1909 Cafe is a Miami staple. Located in the heart of South Miami, patrons have enjoyed their homemade soups and sandwiches for years. Owner Emilio felt it was time to modernize them—give them a fresh feel—one that truly reflected the cafe’s lax vibe. Once we got started on this project, we quickly realized 1909 had no true brand in place. The logo was different on virtually everything, from signage to menus to website. We made it our mission to #1 give Emilio a cohesive image and #2. make it kitsch. He wanted the rebrand to be tongue and cheek and that’s what we gave him. 1909 now has Crack Brownies on the menu and the staff where shirts that say “Let’s Make Whoopie”. The new brand has made this popular local cafe even more unforgettable than their “French Kiss” sandwich.
